Structural calculation software that reads like a hand calculation
Equation Pad lets structural engineers write calculations the way they would on paper: loads, bending moments, section properties and member checks, with real units and typeset equations that a checker can follow line by line.

Write the calculation, not formulas in hidden cells
Type w := 12 kN/m, L := 6 m and M := w*L^2/8 = kN*m, and the sheet shows the typeset equation and the answer, 54 kN·m. Change the span and every line below updates at once.
Because the working is visible, a checker reads it like a hand calculation instead of hunting through spreadsheet formulas.
Units are checked for you
Every value can carry a unit. kN, kN/m, kN·m, N/mm², MPa, mm⁴ and hundreds more are built in, and you can add your own. Adding a force to a moment gives an error instead of a wrong number, and any result can be shown in the unit you ask for.
Everything a structural calculation needs on one sheet
- Equations with units, functions and checks such as
sigma <= f_ythat show TRUE or FALSE. - Matrices for stiffness methods, with inverse, determinant and linear solving.
- A spreadsheet for load tables and member schedules, whose cells feed the maths.
- A 2D/3D drawing editor for details and sections, and a drawing board for quick load sketches.
- Graphs of shear force, bending moment or any function.
- Program blocks for loops and decisions, such as checking several load cases.
Ready to issue
Each sheet carries a title block with your company logo, project, job number and sign-off boxes, on squared paper with a footer you design. Make a PDF at true paper size or a .docx document in one click.
Equation Pad does not apply any design code for you: you write the method of the code you work to, and the result must be checked by a competent engineer.
